Postmaster prepares for holiday season

By November 17, 2017No Comments

With the holidays approaching, Alpine’s post office workers and Postmaster Teresa Simmerman are preparing for the busy mail and package season. Simmerman has served as postmaster since February 2014. She came from the Houston area, and fell in love with the climate, the topography, and the friendly people.

The office begins moving at 4:30 a.m., organizing Amazon packages. During the holiday season, the carriers will start deliveries at 6:30 a.m. and begin their Sunday deliveries. “People’s mail is important to them because I know that if I don’t get my mail, it’s upsetting. My crew is dedicated to getting that done every day. It is an all day, every day job,” said Simmerman.
