Bake Turner, a 1958 Alpine High School graduate who went on to play for the New York Jets in Super Bowl III, presented a gold football to his alma mater.
As part of Super Bowl 50 this year, The NFL Foundation presented golden footballs to high schools for every player or head coach who graduated from that school and then was on an active Super Bowl roster.
The foundation also set aside $1 million for individual $5,000 grants to the eligible schools that will help support and grow their football programs.
