ALPINE, TX – Jeff Davis County Commissioner Jody Adams of Fort Davis won a cool $1 million, coming within a heartbeat of winning the $206 million Powerball jackpot in the Wednesday, February 1 drawing. Adams matched all five numbers, but missed the powerball itself, according to a Texas Lottery Commission news release. Adams purchased his ticket at the Porter’s Thriftway in Alpine,TX, 101 East Sul Ross Street. Maybe a West Texas Ranch is in his future. (the jackpot has since been won)
