Two sisters from Marathon have qualified to compete for a championship title, prize money, and scholarships from the National High School Rodeo Association and National Junior High School Rodeo Association.
Colee Charlesworth, a 10th grader, and Emilee Charlesworth, a seventh grader, each compete in different disciplines. Colee will take part in the Reined Cow Horse aspect of the 70th annual National High School Rodeo Association championships July 15-21 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. A top 20 finish in the early rounds will get her in to the finals.
The finals are televised live by RFD-TV. In addition to the competition, the young riders can enjoy playing other sports, family activities, and even compete in dance contests.
