Jessica Garza to be next Alpine city manager

Jessica Garza was selected by the Alpine City Council to be the Alpine City Manager. She accepted the position effective Dec. 1.

Jessica comes to Alpine with almost 20 years of experience in rural municipalities. She leaves Vinton, where she restructured the local government organization and implemented several strategic plans. She was instrumental in obtaining more than $50 million in public and private grant funds over the past 10 years for water, sewer, parks, storm water and streets. Garza also earned annual recognition from the state comptroller for transparency efforts, along with numerous excellence awards for volunteer and community collaborative initiatives.  Prior to Vinton, she paved the way for first time water and sewer for Clint.
