Hospital district won’t raise taxes

The Big Bend Regional Hospital District is proposing holding its tax rate at the current level for 2016.

At 12.15 cents per $100 valuation, the board still expects to raise about $96,000 more in the new budget year, based on an increase in combined Brewster-Presidio County certified taxable property values. That total is $1.16 billion
