First Flight Medical Air Ambulance presented information about its membership program for air and ground transport services at the Nov. 7 meeting of Alpine City Council.

In addition to Alpine, First Flight provides ground and air transport services for Pecos and San Angelo, and has three planes at its disposal, explained owner Denny O’Hara and Clinical and Medical Operations Director Red Gearheart.

The plane stationed at Alpine Casparis municipal airport flies 250 miles per hour and can handle bad weather conditions. Two flight medics and one flight nurse or nurse medic are available 24/7, O’Hara explained. The aircraft can accommodate a family member in addition to the patient.
