At its regular meeting Jan. 10, newly-elected Commissioner, Pct. 1, Betse Esparza suggested forming an evacuation plan for Sunny Glen residents.
“They’ve asked for a plan, and I think we need to give it to them,” Esparza said, referring to constituents of Pct. 1 in Sunny Glen, where there is only one road for entry and exit. In the event of an emergency blocking FM 1703, residents were concerned that there was no alternate escape route or plan in effect.
Emergency Management Coordinator David Lambrix added, “This should have been done many, many years ago.”
Just as an FYI, Sierra La Rana development has from the beginning had two exit/entrance roads. Something you always want wherever you buy land in West Texas.
