As part of a budget request presentation by Brewster County Tourism Council, Tourism Director Robert Alvarez reported on highlights from the past year. The council invited journalists and tour operators from around the world to see the region firsthand. This puts the Big Bend on the map for huge audiences, according to Alvarez.
Notable publications set to feature the region include the New Zealand Herald, National Geographic in an upcoming 6-9 page article, and Travel Channel Mexico for a segment set to air in September, according to Alvarez.
