The new Come & Take It BBQ in Alpine surprised its owners with a big crowd all three days of its unannounced opening Feb. 12-14.
Owner Jenny Turner said people had told her Alpine residents have been looking forward to the new barbecue restaurant for some time.
“I didn’t know if that was true,” she said. “I believe it now.”
She said they cooked for 200 people Friday and Saturday and sold out both days. Sunday saw a more normal turnout.
