Alpine attorney served and respects

Alpine attorney Bob Steele has the deepest respect for those who serve in the military.

“Veterans Day is a day of remembrance for me. I remember all the guys I knew who went to Vietnam, and my dad had stories from World War II that you don’t read in history books,” he said.

A combat engineer in the U.S. Army, Steele attended Rice University on an ROTC Army scholarship. He was commissioned in 1971, earned a masters degree, entered active duty in 1972, and was sent to Fort Belvoir, Virginia, for training at the officers school.
