Dr. James Luecke is a board certified family practitioner that works out of Fort Davis and also has an office in Alpine. With over 34 years’ experience as a family doctor, Luecke can lay claim to bringing multiple generations into the world over three decades of practicing medicine, a sentiment he holds dear to his heart. Having graduated from the Dallas branch of the University of Texas in 1984, Luecke has since spent his time in West Texas birthing babies, helping to build hundreds of West Texas families, and establishing three successful businesses, including a family clinic in Alpine, a family clinic in Fort Davis, and his relationship and affiliation with Bid Bend Regional Medical Center. “As a family practitioner, I have the privilege of being involved in births, deaths, and everything in between for my patients and their families. That’s a big honor I appreciate,” Leucke said. “Sometimes when everything you do seems right and things go wrong, or everything you do seems wrong and things go right, you realize that the doctor and the patient are not necessarily in control. God is in control, and I ask that he guide my hands and my decision making, and in a sense, it takes a little of the pressure off.”
